Boyfriend arrested in Hyderabad hotel murder of 29-year-old woman

Madhapur police arrested Srinivas Raviteja in connection with the death of 29-year-old Sharon Nikitha Topno at a Siddiqui Nagar hotel. Police said the suspect allegedly confessed during questioning and is expected to be brought to Hyderabad for judicial remand.

Hyderabad: The Madhapur police have arrested Srinivas Raviteja in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Sharon Nikitha Topno, who was found dead at a hotel in Siddiqui Nagar last week.

During questioning, police sources said Raviteja confessed to killing Nikitha, allegedly citing pressure from her to marry him as the reason. The circumstances surrounding the death are being further investigated, with forensic findings and other evidence being examined.

According to police, Raviteja and Nikitha, both from Visakhapatnam, checked into a hotel room on September 21, and she was allegedly killed later that night. The incident came to light the following morning when Raviteja informed hotel staff that she was unconscious and took her to a private hospital, where doctors declared her dead. He then reportedly left the hospital and switched off his phone.

Police found injuries on Nikitha’s face and head, while bloodstains were detected on the walls and bedsheet of the hotel room. A Clues Team collected forensic evidence from the scene, and investigators also examined CCTV footage and technical evidence. A murder case was registered.

Raviteja allegedly returned to his native village of Edumetla Marripalem in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh after the incident. He subsequently attempted suicide and was admitted to King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.

Following his discharge, Madhapur police took him into custody. He is expected to be shifted to Hyderabad and produced before the court for remanding in judicial custody.
