BRAOU set to roll out foreign language courses

Dr BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is set to establish a Centre for Foreign Languages and will initially offer a certificate course in German through a blended learning mode.

Hyderabad: After making higher education accessible at an affordable cost for more than four decades, Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is now set to foray into foreign language education. The university will shortly launch a Centre for Foreign Languages, offering programmes in foreign languages.

To begin with, the university has decided to launch a certificate course in the German language. The course will be offered in a blended learning mode with one week of contact classes once in three months.

“By the end of October will launch the Centre for Foreign Languages and German course. Later, we will also be launching a course in Korean,” said Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice Chancellor BRAOU. 

Taking a step towards digital education, the university has commenced offering six programmes – MA Telugu, MCom, MBA, and BCom in English and Telugu mediums – in the online mode from the academic year 2026-27. Further, the BRAOU has introduced eight new courses – MCA, MSc Computer Science, MSc Data Science, MSc Statistics, MSc Geography, MSW, MA Education and MA Education (School Administration).
