Peddapalli: The first women’s rescue team of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has successfully completed its training in rescue operations, marking a historic milestone for the company.
For the first time in its 136-year history, SCCL has constituted a women’s rescue team comprising 13 officers, who underwent 14 days of specialised training. SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram presented certificates to the trained personnel at a programme held at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMD expressed happiness over the formation of the women’s rescue team and their completion of specialised training. He called on the team members to prove their mettle in rescue operations and deliver exemplary service with skill, dedication, and hard work.
He stressed that the team should demonstrate their strength and capabilities during emergencies and actively contribute to rescue and service activities. He also extended his best wishes for the team to participate in national and international rescue competitions and bring laurels to SCCL.

He noted that SCCL’s rescue stations are providing specialised training to both State and Central disaster response teams and announced plans to develop the mines rescue station at Ramagundam-2 area into a world-class rescue training centre.
General Manager (Rescue) Srinivas Reddy stated that the women officers demonstrated strength and skills on par with their male counterparts during the training. He added that preparations are underway to train the women’s team for upcoming rescue competitions.
