Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS cadres were detained as a preventive measure in view of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s tour to the district, in different parts of the district on Monday.

The party cadres were taken into custody and shifted to a police station in Asifabad, Sirpur (T), Koutala, Rebbena, Wankidi, Kagaznagar, Bejjur, Dahegaon and other parts of the district. They slammed the government for suppressing their voice by detaining them. They said that everyone was entitled to express their views as per rights guaranteed by the Indian constitution.

The leaders and activists of the BRS demanded Revanth Reddy to fulfill his six poll guarantees. They stated that the Congress failed to realize the promises even after completion of over two and half-a-year at the office. They wanted Revanath to tour the district only after keeping his promises. They urged the government to stop illegal detentions and arrests.

Meanwhile, activists of CITU were also arrested in Chintalamanepalli mandal centre. They were housed in a police station. They criticized the government for detaining them. They opined that arresting the cadres of the Opposition parties was against the spirit of democracy. They stated that they were peacefully attempting to bring challenges of the public to notice of the government.
