Jangaon: BRS ranks have launched a postcard movement in Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency in the district demanding the resignation of MLA Kadiyam Srihari.
BRS ranks posted postcards to the MLA’s home address in Hanamkonda stating that the MLA contested and won the seat on BRS ticket and based on the party manifesto because of the hard work put in by the party cadres for his victory.
Srihari joined the Congress party and is ignoring the difficulties faced by the people of the constituency and farmers. Hence he has no right to continue as the MLA and must quit the post immediately, a BRS leader Kanakam Ganesh told Telangana Today.
He said that Srihari pleaded with the BRS to make him an MLA and on the orders of the party high command the party cadres ensured his victory. But he betrayed the party and cadres by defecting to the Congress party for power and with the aim of making his daughter a Member of Parliament (MP).
The MLA did not have the courage to explain to the Speaker which party he belonged to after switching parties. If he fails to resign as MLA immediately, the movement would be intensified and postcards from every village in the constituency would be sent to his house as well as to the Assembly Speaker, Ganesh warned.
Another BRS leader Pesaru Saraiah stated that the party cadres would prevent the MLA from visiting the villages in the constituency.
The party cadres and the voters believed that if Srihari was elected he would stand by the people in solving their problems.
On the contrary Srihari did not care even as the farmers have faced difficulties for the past couple of months due to shortage of urea. The MLA should quit; face bye-polls on the Congress party symbol and show his mettle by winning the by-election, he noted.
