Karimnagar: BRS has decided to call for a Karimnagar town bandh on Saturday in protest against the BJP’s attack on Karimnagar MLA’s camp office.
In a statement, BRS town president Challa Harishankar termed it as an attack on the entire Karimnagar constituency’s people. He appealed to all sections including business community, educational institutions, hotels and others to extend support to the bandh and make it a success.
He said Karimnagar, known for its peace, was likely to lose its identity due to such attacks. The BJP activists with the support of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar had attacked the camp office with stones and sticks, he alleged.
He demanded that the police arrest the BJP leaders and workers who were involved in the attack after registering an attempt to murder case. Harishankar demanded that the Union Minister resign from his post for provoking BJP leaders and workers to attack the MLA camp office. In this regard, BRS leaders gave a representation to Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam.
He called on party worker Sampath Goud, who was injured in the BJP attack, in Renee hospital.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that BRS working president KT Rama Rao is likely to visit Karimnagar town on Saturday to boost the morale of the party cadre.
