Hyderabad: BRS Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra accused the Congress government of dragging Telangana back into an era of political violence following the attack on the party’s office in Manuguru. He demanded immediate and stringent action against the Congress activists who allegedly set the office ablaze.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, Ravichandra said the Manuguru BRS office was a private property, and was owned by district president and former MLA Rega Kantha Rao. He said it was deliberately targeted. “Rega Kantha Rao purchased that property with his own money. Did Congress build or fund it to claim ownership and burn it down?” he asked.
He stated that the assault was politically motivated after Kantha Rao questioned the misuse of DMFT funds. He slammed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, calling him a failed Home Minister. “From Sircilla to Siddipet and Bhongir to Manuguru, BRS offices were attacked over last two years. The Congress is reviving the same violent culture that once destroyed CPM offices in West Bengal,” he said.
Declaring that the BRS would not be intimidated by such attacks, the Rajya Sabha MP questioning police inaction. “Where is DGP Shivdhar Reddy when Congress mobs burnt BRS offices? The police appear paralysed before Congress workers,” he remarked.
BRS MLC Thatha Madhu termed the Manuguru incident a criminal conspiracy to silence dissent. He accused Congress leaders in the region of instigating violence and reminded the killing of CPM leader Samineni Rama Rao. He reiterated that the Manuguru BRS office was private property and dared Congress for a public debate with evidence on property ownershi
