BRS hits back at CM Revanth over 24‑hour power claim

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has strongly criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s claim of providing 24-hour power to farmers, alleging that only 10–12 hours of supply is being given. Former Minister Sunitha Laxma Reddy accused the Congress government of failing to deliver on promises including farm loan waivers, job creation, and unemployment allowance.

Hyderabad: A day after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy claimed that farmers were being provided 24-hour power, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) hit back, saying officials themselves were admitting that only 10 to 12 hours of power was being supplied to farmers.

Former Minister Sunitha Laxma Reddy said it was a joke that the Chief Minister, who was making farmers spend sleepless nights, was claiming that he had made farming profitable.

Addressing the media here on Sunday, she alleged that the Chief Minister had failed to implement the farm loan waiver as promised.

She also questioned the introduction of the Urea app, saying farmers were facing increased hardships because of it. She asked whether farmers were happy with the new app.

Sunitha Laxma Reddy alleged that the Congress government was deceiving all sections of society, not just farmers. She said Revanth Reddy had promised two lakh jobs but had deceived unemployed youth. She also questioned what had happened to his promise of an unemployment allowance and the ‘Rajiv Yuva Vikasam’ scheme.

She further alleged that Revanth Reddy had failed to fulfil his promise of providing Rs. 1 crore each to the families of workers who died at the Sigachi industry.

Condemning the remarks and objectionable language used by the Chief Minister in Sangareddy, Sunitha Laxma Reddy said he had spoken lies even on Independence Day. She alleged that Revanth Reddy had no clear policy and had done nothing for the State.

She also criticised the Congress government for boasting about the distribution of ration cards. She pointed out that Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy had admitted in the Legislative Council that 6.47 lakh ration cards were issued during the BRS regime.

Sunitha Laxma Reddy said the distribution of fine rice was not an achievement of the Congress government. She said BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao was the brand ambassador for the initiative as he had started the fine rice distribution programme.

BRS MLA from Sangareddy Chinta Prabhakar said the public meeting in Sangareddy had been conducted using the State exchequer but had turned into a Congress party meeting.

He said that, despite being the Sangareddy MLA, he was not even informed about the meeting. He alleged that Revanth Reddy had insulted not only him but also the people of Sangareddy.

He also questioned whether Jagga Reddy was a good leader, asking why people had defeated him if that was the case.

Prabhakar alleged that the Chief Minister lacked substance and achievements to present before the people and was therefore trying to divert their attention through charges of occult rituals.

He said not a single new project had been announced for Sangareddy and claimed that this reflected the Congress government’s financial bankruptcy.
