BRS leader Harish Rao accuses Telangana CM Revanth Reddy of distorting Apex Council meeting facts
Says Revanth selectively quoted Apex Council minutes to mislead the public on Banakacharla project. Alleges political motives and warns against compromising Telangana’s water interests for short-term narratives
Hyderabad: Calling Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy a “master peddler of lies,” former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao accused him of distorting former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s stand in the Apex Council meeting to suit his political narrative.
Harish alleged that the Chief Minister selectively cited portions from the Apex Council meeting on inter-State river water disputes, particularly regarding the Banakacharla project in Andhra Pradesh, to mislead the public.
Responding to Revanth Reddy’s recent statements, Harish claimed that while the Chief Minister referred to Agenda Item No. 1 from the Apex Council minutes, he deliberately omitted Agenda Item No. 5.
“Revanth Reddy hid what doesn’t suit his narrative. In Agenda 5, KCR clearly stated that Telangana would not accept any project linking the Godavari and Krishna rivers without prior consultation,” he said, sharing the meeting minutes on X.

The former Irrigation Minister accused the Congress government of pushing a politically motivated and fabricated narrative on the Banakacharla project to mask its own inefficiency in stopping Andhra Pradesh’s progress on the project.
He added that the people of Telangana would not fall for Revanth Reddy’s “deception” at the cost of the State’s water interests.
