Hyderabad: BRS social media convenor Manne Krishank is now slapped with 23rd case for seeking action against those who allegedly misbehaved with Miss England Milla Magee during the recently concluded Miss World pageant in Hyderabad.
The Rajendranagar police have registered a case against the BRS leader following a complaint by Faheem Qureshi, a close aide of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Krishank, who received police summons asking him to appear at Rajendranagar police station on Saturday, took to X questioning the basis of the complaint.
“Did I name Faheem Qureshi in my tweet?” he asked, noting that he merely shared newspaper reports on Miss England Milla Magee’s sudden exit from the beauty pageant held in the city.
The controversy stems from Krishank’s post hinting at the involvement of two young Congress leaders in allegedly misbehaving with the beauty queen. He had earlier demanded that the government release the unedited CCTV footage of the event to clarify doubts among the people.
“This is the 23rd police case filed against me by the Congress government. Instead of probing Miss England’s allegations, they are targeting those who question them,” he posted.
BRS leaders have condemned the repeated targeting of Krishank, terming it a systematic crackdown on dissent and an attempt to silence voices raising uncomfortable questions. The party demanded transparency on the allegations involving the pageant and accountability from those in power.
