Telangana Cabinet decides to give 2 DAs to govt employees

Hyderabad: Much to the dismay of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme applicants and farmers anticipating Rythu Bharosa assistance for the season, no official announcement was made by the government over these issues after the Cabinet meeting here on Thursday.
The marathon State cabinet meeting went on from 4 pm to 9.30 pm at the Secretariat and discussed several issues but there were no announcements on multiple issues on which the public were waiting for clarity on.
Sharing details of the cabinet decisions, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the State government had decided to pay two pending dearness allowances (DA) to government employees, of which one DA would be paid now and the other would be paid after six months.
It was decided to issue health cards to employees under the contributory system. On par with employees’ monthly contribution of Rs.500, the government would be making an equal contribution. To this effect, a trust would be set up led by the Chief Secretary and involving employees and officials.
“Several demands of the employee unions were considered.Rs.700 crore will be released per month to clear the long-pending bills of the employees. Retired employees will not be employed anymore,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said under the Hyderabad Metro Phase II, it was decided to take up Corridor I – Shamshabad to Future City covering 39.6 km, Corridor II JBS to Medchal covering 24.5 km and Corridor III JBS to Shamirpet with 22 km.
In all, about 86 km, with Rs.19,579 crore would be taken up under the State and Central government joint collaboration. To this effect, the cabinet approved the decision to send a proposal to the Central government, he said.
Srinivas Reddy, stating that last year, 385 SHG members had died and the government decided to pay Rs.38.5 crore to them under the accidental insurance, announced that the same would be continued this year as well.
The R&B and Panchayat roads were in bad shape. Accordingly, in the first phase, it was decided to develop 5,190 km of roads under R&B and 7,947 km under the Panchayat Raj department under Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the Revenue Minister said.
These works would be executed in two years and the same agency would be entrusted with the maintenance for 15 years.
