BRS leaders arrested amidst tensions over police raid

Hyderabad: Tensions escalated near a private villa community in Raidurgam following alleged police attempts to forcefully enter the villas of BRS leaders and their relatives without search warrants on Sunday.

BRS workers who gathered at the scene opposed the police’s highhanded behavior, leading to heated arguments.The Excise department personnel were also part of the contingent that attempted to raid the houses.

About 20 BRS leaders were arrested in the incident. When the police were asked for a search warrant, they produced it subsequently, allowing them to search the house in the presence of an advocate and a team of BRS leaders.
