Hyderabad: The Kodangal police on Sunday took several BRS leaders into custody when they protested against the authorities over the demolition of graves for road widening.
The BRS workers, led by former Hajj Committee chairman Mohammed Masiullah, Azam Ali and others, reached Kodangal and sat at the spot where the graves were demolished. The police were taken aback by the sudden entry of the leaders despite setting up a checkpost on the roads leading to Kodangal.
The police forcibly took the leaders into custody and shifted them to Kodangal police station.
The authorities in Kodangal, undertaking road widening, had reportedly demolished several graves, two Ashoorkhana and a dargah.
