Karimnagar: Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy found fault with the Telangana government for not selecting genuine and eligible people for various government welfare schemes.
Participating in a gram sabha at Saidabad in Jammikunta mandal, he registered his protest by squatting on the ground along with the people who did not find their names in the eligibility list.
The MLA said the names of landless people were not found in the Indiramma housing scheme eligibility list. Many eligible people were been selected for the other welfare schemes as well.
Cases were being registered against BRS leaders if they raise their voice on behalf of the people and mount pressure on the government for implementation of poll promises. Where was the need to deploy such a huge number of police personnel in the gram sabha, he asked.
He demanded that the State government implement poll promises and provide welfare schemes to genuine eligible people. Officials promised to take all the issues raised by the MLA to the higher officials. Later, the legislator left the sabha.
