Hyderabad: BRS LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy and Quthbullapur MLA KP Vivekanand on Thursday urged the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to raise the maximum age limit from 44 years to 46 years for all TGPSC recruitment notifications and reduce the application processing fee from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 100.
In a letter to TGPSC Chairman Burra Venkatesham, Sudheer Reddy and Vivekanand, highlighted that the government had issued GO Ms No.86, increasing the maximum age limit for recruitment from 34 years to 44 years. However, under the earlier GO Ms No. 42, an opportunity was available up to 46 years of age.
“We request that the maximum age limit be increased from 44 years to 46 years for all TGPSC notifications. This request is being made because several recruitment notifications have been issued after many years. For example, the deputy education officer notification was released after a long gap since 1997, and the degree college lecturer notification is also being issued after many years,” they said.
Due to lack of implementation of a regular yearly recruitment calendar many candidates who completed higher education such as PG and PhD degrees have not received suitable opportunities, the BRS MLAs said.
“We request that the application fee be reduced from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 100 as was followed earlier. We further request the government to honour its assurance of providing opportunities for candidates to apply without a heavy financial burden,” they added.
