Jagtial: BRS MLC K Kavitha criticised the State government for “humiliating” government employees by sanctioning only one instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA). She said employees, who played a key role in the Telangana statehood movement, were deeply disappointed.

Speaking to reporters in Jagtial on Saturday, Kavitha said the Congress party — which had earlier criticised the previous BRS government — had promised to clear all pending DAs and TAs, and ensure timely payment of salaries to help employees manage their loan repayments.

“However, after coming to power, the Congress forgot all its promises. Instead of clearing the pending DAs, it announced only one DA instalment,” she said.

Calling it an insult to the sacrifices made by government employees during the Telangana agitation, Kavitha demanded that the government clear all pending DAs without delay.

Earlier in the day, Kavitha attended wedding ceremonies in Mallial and Kodimyal. She also visited Rangapur in Medipalli mandal to console former Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairman Haricharan Rao, whose father passed away recently.
