Hyderabad: BRS NRIs are gearing up to participate in a large scale in the party’s silver jubilee celebrations and public meeting scheduled to be held at Elkathurthy near Warangal on April 27. Marking the 25th anniversary of the party formation, BRS NRIs will descend in Telangana from 50 countries across the world.

On Sunday, BRS NRI global coordinator Mahesh Bigala convened a video conference with NRI representatives from over 50 countries, urging them to join the landmark event in Warangal. He said the public meeting marking the silver jubilee celebrations, to be addressed by party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, will be historic and reflect the spirit of the Telangana statehood movement.

“This is happening on the same place that hosted transformative gatherings like the Vishwaroopa Maha Sabha during the Telangana statehood struggle. The intellectual legacy of people’s poet Kaloji, Prof. Jayashankar, and the visionary leadership of K Chandrashekhar Rao are the pillars of this journey,” Mahesh said. He added that Telangana became a model State under BRS rule, and the silver jubilee celebrations aim to share that story globally.

Meanwhile, NRIs shared their plans to conduct year-long celebrations in various countries to mark the occasion. Separately, BRS UK unit launched a symbolic campaign in London by unveiling the ‘Chalo Warangal’ poster at the iconic London Bridge. BRS UK president Naveen Reddy called on the global Telangana diaspora and supporters to participate in large numbers and ensure the success of the conference.
