Hyderabad: In a bid to dismiss BRS working president KT Rama Rao‘s allegations of the Congress registering fake voters in Jubilee Hills constituency, Minister G Vivek Venkataswamy declared that no new voters were registered in the constituency.
However, he claimed that if any new voters were registered, the BJP-led Centre and the BRS were responsible.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said that nowhere had 23,000 new voters registered and that the allegations made by Rama Rao were false. He said the Election Commission of India was under the control of the Centre and alleged that the BJP and the BRS were hand in glove with each other in Delhi.
“He should ask his partner to delete all such (fake) names,” Venkataswamy said.
However, official data showed that the voter count had increased from 3.75 lakh in 2023 to 3.98 lakh despite the deletion of 12,000 votes.
Responding sharply, BRS leader Manne Krishank hit back at the Minister who was the party in-charge of the Jubilee Hills bypoll for not even knowing the official voter list released by the Election Commission.
