Karimnagar: BRS activists on Friday staged protest demonstrations in different parts of the erstwhile Karimnagar district against the alleged attack by BJP workers on the Karimnagar MLA camp office.

Dharnas and rasta rokos were held in Vemulawada, Medipalli, Gangadhara and other places. Participating in the protests, BRS activists raised slogans against Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

They found fault with the Union Minister, accusing him of provoking party workers to attack the MLA’s camp office as well as Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy.

Stating that law and order had been disturbed in the state, they alleged that the Congress and BJP were creating trouble for BRS leaders by colluding with each other. With Thursday’s incident, it was exposed that there was no safety even for MLAs, they said, and faulted the Union Minister for encouraging rowdy politics.

Though burglars looted a jewellery shop in Karimnagar town, Sanjay Kumar was least bothered about the incident, they alleged, adding that it was shameful on his part.

“In a democracy, debate on development is the better way and not physical attacks,” they said, demanding an unconditional apology from the Union Minister over the attack on Kaushik Reddy and the MLA camp office.
