BRS to approach court if Warangal Silver Jubilee meeting is denied permission says KTR

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the party would approach the court if the police denied permission for the party’s public meeting at Elkathurthy near Warangal.

“Our leaders in Warangal had already approached the local ACP seeking permission for the public meeting. I personally spoke to the DGP and there is no reason why permission should not be given,” Rama Rao said here on Tuesday.

This year was going to be a busy year for the BRS as it would be organizing its silver jubilee celebrations. There would be year-long celebrations in all districts and there would be training sessions for party workers, he said, adding that emphasis would be on the membership drive which would be done digitally using mobile apps.

“At the regional level, after the Telugu Desam Party, it is only the BRS that is celebrating its silver jubilee. It is going to be a historic occasion for the party,” Rama Rao said, adding that there would be the State president elections in October. Accordingly, committees would be constituted at village, ward, constituency and district level.

“Amidst the celebrations and party strengthening activities, we will also fight the local body elections,” he said, stressing that as a responsible opposition, the BRS would continue to fight on public issues.

Despite crude oil prices falling considerably, the Union government increased fuel prices, gas cylinder prices and due to its lack of vision on reciprocal tariff imposed by the United States, nearly Rs.19 lakh crore investors’ funds evaporated from the stock market yesterday, he pointed out.

The BJP-led Centre was burdening the common man. By levying additional excise cess on fuel prices, it would fill up its coffers but State governments do not get benefits, he said, also expressing concern that the US reciprocal tariff would cast an impact on Telangana as well.

Pharma and IT sectors were the key exporting sectors from the State. Despite all these issues, the Congress was not staging a protest nor commenting on the fuel and LPG price hike, he said.

“Both the national parties are a threat to Telangana and only BRS is fighting to safeguard the people’s interests. While one party leader is carrying bags to New Delhi, the other carried his national leader’s footwear,” Rama Rao said.
