Mancherial: BRS district president Balka Suman exuded confidence that the BRS would win power in the Kyathanpalli municipality governing council.

Speaking to the media after appearing before the police in connection with a case in Kyathanpalli on Sunday, he said the Congress was hatching conspiracies to prevent elections to select the governing council of the 22-member Kyathanpalli civic body even as the BRS had achieved an absolute majority by winning 14 wards. He lashed out at Labour Minister G Vivek, stating that he was attempting to win the council through illegal means by disrespecting the mandate of the electors.

The BRS leader accused Vivek of obstructing special meetings meant for the election of the governing council of Kyathanpalli municipality twice. He and 25 BRS leaders were implicated in false cases and were targeted by the Congress and harassed by the police for questioning its actions. Suman further said the credit for granting house titles to people who occupied lands of SCCL went to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He wanted Vivek to bring new coal mines if he was determined to develop the Chennur segment. He requested officials to conduct the meeting democratically to elect the governing council of Kyathanpalli, honouring an order of the High Court.
