Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former minister V. Srinivas Goud has been elected as the president of the Bharath Trade Union (BRTU) at MTAR Technologies Ltd in Balanagar.
Goud secured a decisive victory over BJP MP Raghunandan Rao in the keenly contested labour recognition union elections. It marks a big boost for BRTU’s representation in the aerospace manufacturing firm.
Addressing a gathering of workers and union members shortly after the results were announced, Goud highlighted his contributions to employee welfare.
“Through negotiations with the company management, we have successfully made 359 contract workers permanent, ensuring job security and stability for their families,” he said.
He also credited the union’s efforts for the establishment of an on-site canteen, providing affordable meals to the workforce, and a substantial hike in basic pay, from 30% to 50%, which he described as a “game-changer” for the employees’ financial well-being.
Expressing deep gratitude to the workers, Goud emphasised the trust they placed in him. “I am humbled by the confidence shown by every worker who voted for me. This victory is not mine alone but belongs to all of you who stood united for your rights,” he stated.
Reaffirming his commitment, the newly elected president assured the workforce, “Any issue faced by workers in the company, be it wages, safety, or facilities, will be addressed promptly and resolved without delay.”
