BRS working president KT Rama Rao helps tea vendor, who was harassed by Telangana Congress govt, set up new stall
To inaugurate new tea stall at Gandhi Chowk in Sircilla town on Sunday after the earlier one was seized by officials as it bore a signboard that read ‘KTR tea stall’
Rajanna-Sircilla: Keeping his word, BRS working president KT Rama Rao has helped tea vendor Bathula Srinivas open a new tea stall after his old one was forcibly shut down by municipal officials.
Rama Rao will inaugurate the new tea stall at Gandhi Chowk in Sircilla town on Sunday. Srinivas used to run a tea stall, named ‘KTR tea stall’, at Bathukamma ghat in Sircilla town.
Noticing Rama Rao’s photographs on the stall’s signboard, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha instructed municipal officials last month to seize it if it did not have a trade licence.
Based on the Collector’s instructions, municipal officials shut the tea stall. After two days, the stall was removed from the spot and shifted to CiNaRe Kalamandir without intimating Srinivas.
When Srinivas questioned the move and tried to prevent the officials from shifting his stall, he was taken to the police station and warned of more action against him if any attempt was made to obstruct their ‘duties’.
On learning about the incident, Rama Rao promised all support to Srinivas’ family and, after a few days, he even visited Srinivas at his home in Sircilla town.
He had then promised to help him open a new stall, with Rama Rao assuring to bear all expenses.
