Hyderabad: The Commissioner of Food Safety inspected a Burger King outlet in Malakpet, finding violations related to the quality of cooking oil.

The palm oil used for frying non-vegetarian items had a Total Polar Compound (TPC) value of 27.0, exceeding the permissible limit of 25.0 set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

TPC values indicate the degradation of oil quality, which can pose potential health risks when consumed.

As a result, 15 liters of cooking oil were seized on the spot. The outlet displayed a valid FSSAI license, and records for medical fitness, pest control, and water analysis were found to be in order.
