Busani Venkateshwara Rao appointed as chairman of dedicated BC Commission

Retired IAS officer Busani Venkateshwara Rao as chairman of the dedicated Commission to conduct contemporaneous rigorous empirical enquiry into the nature and implications of the backwardness qua local bodies, with respect to the Backward Classes.

Hyderabad: The State government appointed retired IAS officer Busani Venkateshwara Rao as chairman of the Dedicated Commission to conduct contemporaneous rigorous empirical enquiry into the nature and implications of the backwardness qua local bodies, with respect to the Backward Classes.

B Saidulu, IFS, Secretary of MJPTBCWREIS, Hyderabad was appointed as Secretary of the Commission. To this effect, the government issued GO Ms 49 on Monday.


The appointment of the dedicated Commission comes in the wake of High Court orders to the State government. The Commission has been directed to submit its report to the State government within a month.

The Commission is entitled to consider the evidence collected by the Backward Classes Commission. This apart, it is permitted to take assistance from various organizations and avail services of experts and researchers.
