Warangal: Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), an autonomous society under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MietY), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Technology, Warangal for collaboration in research and development related to electronic materials here on Saturday.
C-MET is establishing Center of Excellence (CoE) in the areas like Rechargeable Batteries, Additive Manufacturing, E-waste recycling, Graphene based devices and IIOT. NITW has established a Centre of Excellence in collaboration with SIMENS establishing 13 laboratories, leveraging Siemens’ integrated platform to draw upon the expertise from various areas of industry and provide its partners with knowledge and tools.
Another Centre of Excellence established in the campus of NITW is in collaboration with ABB India now renamed as Hitachi ABB Power Products and Systems Ltd. (HAPG), called Smart Electric Grid Laboratory. With this infrastructure, advanced research in the areas of integration of RES with electric grid, smart and micro grid system dynamics, stability, protection, operation and control can be carried out and facilitate research in emerging areas of electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
The MoU between C-MET and NIT Warangal will forge synergy between two premier organizations in the thrust areas for the development of electronic materials required for the country. This will facilitate exchanging the knowledge base through faculty, research scholars and students, in the collaborative projects. This will also help in training manpower ready for industry in the country.
