Hyderabad: Pargi police arrested four persons for allegedly opening fire at a calf resulting in its death at Dammagudem reserve forest last Friday night.
The arrested persons include a sportsman from the city and three from Vikarabad district. One more person from the city is absconding.
“Five persons ventured into the forest area for hunting and on spotting a calf, two of them shot at it with a rifle they were carrying,” said Laxmi Reddy, Station House Officer, Pargi police station. The incident came to light after Ganga Naik, owner of the cattle, found the calf dead in the forest and informed the local Chengomul police station.
After the incident, the police launched an inquiry and identified the five suspects.
