Cambridge AS & A Level entries grow 15 pc in India
Cambridge International Education has announced the results of its June 2026 exam series, with 368,000 students worldwide receiving AS & A Level results. India recorded over 40,000 entries, marking an 11 per cent rise from last year and a 15 per cent growth in AS & A Level entries.
Hyderabad: Cambridge International Education (Cambridge) has begun releasing the results of its June 2026 exam series, with almost 3,68,000 students in 3,492 schools worldwide receiving Cambridge International AS & A Level results today. Global entries for Cambridge International AS & A Levels rose 5 percent last year.
In India, the popularity of the Cambridge Pathway continues to grow, as more learners choose globally recognised qualifications that equip them to thrive at university and in a rapidly changing global economy. There were more than 40,000 entries for the June exam series – up 11 percent on June 2025 – and a 15 percent growth in entries at Cambridge International AS & A Level.
The data also highlights the importance students and families place on English proficiency alongside STEM learning. First Language English is the most popular Cambridge IGCSE subject in India, followed by Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. At Cambridge International AS & A Level, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Business are the most popular subjects.
Rod Smith, Group Managing Director for International Education at Cambridge, said, “More students are turning to our A Levels because they combine deep subject knowledge with the skills universities and employers value most. This year’s continued growth shows that more students than ever recognise the power of that combination in a world shaped by AI”.
The flexibility of Cambridge International AS & A Levels also provides the option for students to stay in their home country, as well as study abroad.
