Car crash near Hyderabad leads to peddler’s arrest, 16 kg marijuana seized
A car accident near Batasingaram in Hyderabad led to the arrest of a drug peddler transporting 16 kg of marijuana. Police discovered the drugs upon inspection and took him into custody.
Hyderabad: A car accident near Batasingaram in Abdullapurmet on the city’s outskirts led to the arrest of a drug peddler and seizure of 16 kg of marijuana on Saturday.
According to the police, the car which was being driven by one Bhukya Naik from Mahabubabad, was reportedly transporting marijuana from Odisha to Maharashtra when the mishap occurred.
When the vehicle reached near Batasingaram, the driver lost control of the wheel and crashed into the road median. The Abdullapurmet police reached the spot and upon inspection, they found the contraband inside the vehicle.
Police seized the car, marijuana, and a mobile phone, and took Bhukya Naik into custody.
Further investigation is ongoing.
