Based on a complaint lodged by an activist of Stray Animal Foundation of India, Adulapuram Goutham, District Forest Officer Ravi Prasad conducted an enquiry and registered the case as it was proved that Gangavva and Raju used a parakeet for choosing astrology cards by violating the Wildlife Protection Act. The video titled ‘Gangavva Chiluka Panchangam’ was uploaded on the YouTube channel on May 20, 2022. In the video, Gangavva and Raju used the parakeet at Lambadipally of Mallial mandal. Later, the video was removed from YouTube.
As Gangavva and Raju admitted ignorance of the Wildlife Protection Act’s applicability, the DFO withdrew the case considering it as the first mistake. Officials took an undertaking from them that they would not repeat the act.
