Sangareddy: A 40-year-old cattle herder drowned in river Manjeera at Pasalwadi village in Sangareddy mandal on Monday. The victim was identified as Atchi Anjaneyulu of Pasalwadi village.

Anjaneyulu, who had taken his cattle to the banks of the river for grazing, fell into the river which was in full flow.


The irrigation authorities had released water through the power house from Singur to meet the needs of ayacut farmers in Medak district. Efforts were on to fish out the body.

Sangareddy Rural police registered a case.
