Speaking at a review meeting on cotton procurement, the Minister said the government proposed the regulated farming system to make agriculture profitable and help farmers to financially grow. He added that 10 procurement centres were readied for purchasing it and relevant arrangements were made.
The Minister further said that the procurement would formally be commenced from October 19, once the software was available. He stated that the cotton which contains moisture percent between 8 and 12 would be paid the msp. He said that the crop was being grown in 9.17 lakh acres in the erstwhile Adilabad district and 1.16 crore quintals of yield was expected this year.
