Hyderabad: China is facing a new virus outbreak of the human metapneumovirus (HMPV) spreading rapidly, five years after the Covid-19 pandemic. HMPV is a virus that usually causes cold-like symptoms. You may cough or wheeze, and you may have a runny nose or sore throat.

Social media posts said China has seen multiple outbreaks of the virus, leading to overcrowding in hospitals and cemeteries. China is facing a surge in multiple viruses, including Influenza A, HMPV, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and COVID-19, overwhelming hospitals and crematoriums, says on X
