Yadadri-Bhongir: Chief Justice of India NV Ramana visited the famed Yadadri shrine on Tuesday and offered special prayers to Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy at Balalayam. He also went through the renovated main temple.
Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy and G Jagadish Reddy welcomed the CJI at the VVIP suite on the Yadadri hill. As per tradition, temple priests welcomed the CJI with ‘purna khumbam’ on his arrival at Balalayam.
Chief Justice Ramana and his wife participated in “Swarna Pushparchana” performed for the presiding deity and spent an hour at Balalayam. He enquired with the temple priests about the historical significance of the pilgrim centre.
Impressed by the sculptures and structures at the renovated temple, he said the temple has been developed in a way that ensures the greatness of spirituality is passed on to future generations. He appreciated the architects and sculptors for the work, and later inspected the lighting system at the temple and the Presidential Suite. The Ministers explained to him the progress and the status of works at the temple.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Alimineti Sandeep Reddy, Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha, District Collector Pamela Satpathy, YTDA Vice-Chairman Kishan Rao and temple Executive Officer N Geetha were also present.
