Class IX student ends life fearing exam failure in Hyderabad

Neighbours, who broke the door, found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan

Hyderabad: A ninth standard student died by suicide at his house in LB Nagar allegedly fearing failure in the examination.

C Sai Raju (14), a student of a local school stayed along with his parents at Sai Sapthagiri colony, in LB Nagar. On Monday evening, the boy went into the bedroom on the pretext of studying and latched the door from inside.

A little later, when the mother of the boy checked him, Sai did not respond. She alerted the neighbours, who broke the door and found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan.

The mother told the police that the boy was anxious over his performance in annual exams and might have ended his life over it.

A case is registered.
