Adilabad: MLA Jogu Ramanna distributed fruits to patients at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad to mark the first day of the three-day long birthday celebrations of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramanna opined that Chandrashekhar Rao was an able administrator and a visionary leader. He stated that the formation of Telangana as a separate State was possible due to the movement spearheaded by Rao. He said that the Chief Minister was maintaining balance in implementing welfare schemes and taking up developmental works and added that the State made rapid strides in many sectors under his leadership.
Meanwhile, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kova Laxmi said that Chandrashekhar Rao was instrumental in realising the 60-year-old dream of a separate State. She distributed fruits, bread, and bed sheets to elderly patients at a Primary Health Centre in Jainoor mandal. She later inaugurated a cricket tournament.
Similar charity programmes were organised as part of the celebrations in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial and Nirmal districts. Local MLAs and public representatives took part in the events.
