Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was showing partiality to the poor and accordingly he was providing 2BHK houses for the financially-challenged communities.
He formally inaugurated a colony of 71 double bedroom houses at Chityal village in Nirmal Rural mandal on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Indrakaran Reddy said that the Chief Minister always wanted the poor live with self-respect and started the 2BHK housing scheme. No government had taken up such an ambitious initiative so far. The selection of the beneficiaries is also being done in a transparent way with no need to pay a single rupee. The beneficiaries were elated to enter the new 2 BHK house, he said.
The Minister further said that as many as 3,761 units were granted to Nirmal Assembly constituency and of them, 2,200 were under construction. A total of 1,500 homes have neared completion. Steps were being taken to expedite the pending works of the remaining houses. The homes would be given to eligible beneficiaries at the earliest, he added.
Distribution of clay idols
Minister Indrakaran Reddy distributed clay idols of Lord Ganesh at a programme held at his camp office in Nirmal town. The idols were sponsored by the Telangana State Pollution Control Board.
He said that as many as 12,000 idols would be used in the district during this festival and 3,000 idols would be installed in Nirmal town alone, while the remaining in rural parts. He requested everyone to worship eco-friendly idols and protect the environment.
