Hyderabad: The State Assembly which generally witnesses heated arguments between the treasury and the opposition benches, for a change, had the members bursting into a laughter on Tuesday. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao suggested that Congress Legislative Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka who has raised concerns over privatisation of public sector undertakings in the Assembly, should be sent to the Parliament as he was raising issues within the purview of the Centre, sending the entire House into splits.
Participating in a discussion on the State Budget in the Assembly on Tuesday, Bhatti Vikramarka expressed his anguish that some PSUs established by the previous Congress governments, were now being ignored in the State.
Responding to the same in a lighter vein, the Chief Minister felt that the CLP leader was diverting his anguish meant for the Centre towards the State. “Considering his anger, our members felt that he should be sent to the Parliament to raise such issues with the Centre. Let us together send him to the Parliament. It would a promotion for him,” he said, leaving everyone including the Congress members in splits.
He made it clear that the State government was taking all measures within its purview to safeguard TSRTC and Singareni Collieries Company Limited among others. He also thanked Bhatti Vikramarka for finally appreciating the State government for launching ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ programme.
