Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao directed the Ministers and the officials concerned to expedite the works pertaining to arrangements for the reopening ceremony of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri next month.
The Chief Minister reached Yadadri at around 2 pm on Monday afternoon and conducted an aerial survey of the area to examine the arrangements for the reopening ceremony. The temple priests received him with a Poornakumbham amid chanting of Vedic hymns, following which he performed special puja to the principle deity at the temple Balalayam.
Chandrashekhar Rao went around the temple premises and examined the ongoing construction works which are nearing completion. He inspected the sanctum sanctorium, Pushkarini, Kalyana Katta, separate bathrooms for men and women devotees, RTC bus stand, Annadanam complex and Vratha Mandapams among others.
He also visited about 75 acres area at the foothills, earmarked for the Yagashala where Sudarshana Yagam will be performed during the reopening ceremony. He is also scheduled to review the arrangements for the reopening ceremony and also the final stages of the ongoing works.
Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, MLAs Sunitha Mahender Reddy, P Sekhar Reddy, Gadari Kishore Kumar, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, Marri Janardhan Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary for Finance K Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary to CMO S Narsing Rao, and others were present.
Officials instructed to make arrangements for Sudarshana Yagam
Meanwhile, temple Executive Officer N Geetha said the Chief Minister instructed the officials to make arrangements for Sudarshana Yagam and Maha Khumbha Samprokshana that would be conducted before the reopening of the temple.
Speaking to the media after the review meeting, she said the Chief Minister instructed the officials to start works for setting up the Yaga Shala in the identified land. He also directed them to make arrangements to provide shelter and food to ‘rithwiks’ who will be taking part in the seven-day Sudarshana Yagam. He made several suggestions to officials to facilitate devotees to make ‘pradakshinam’ of the Yaga Shala. He also instructed the officials to take special measures to provide transportation facility to devotees from Yadadri as large number of people were expected to throng the place to watch the auspicious event. She said the Chief Minister promised sanction of required funds to make arrangements for the purpose.
