‘CM KCR working on plan to help all hit by lockdown’

Nalgonda: Rythu Bandhu Samanvaya Samithi State president Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Thursday said Chief Minister K Chandrasekkhar Rao was working on a plan to help people from all sections of society who faced hardships following the Covid-19 triggered lockdown.
Speaking at a campaign meeting held by Telangana Recognised School Management Association (TRSMA) here seeking graduates to enroll their names as voters for Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam Graduates MLC constituency, Rajeshwar Reddy said that teachers and lecturers of private schools were facing financial problems due to closure of educational institutions after the lockdown.
The State government has come to the conclusion that Rs 500 crore was required to extend financial help to 2.5 lakhs teachers and lecturers of private educational institutions. At the same time, representations from elected representatives requesting financial help for other sections like truck drivers, workers of hotels and shops had also been received. “Even as the State government was trying to work out a solution, heavy rains lashed the state which has resulted in delay in making an announcement in this regard,” he said.
He asserted that there was no question of zero academic year in the State and that the academic year would be completed through online and offline classes. The State government would soon make an announcement in this regard.
Responding to Opposition allegations that only 30,000 posts were filled by the State government in the last six years, he said the State government provided jobs to 1.5 lakhs unemployed since 2014. In addition to filling 30,000 vacant posts through Telangana Public Service Commission, 29,000 constable jobs in police department, 1,400 teachers jobs in residential schools, 7,500 jobs in TSRTC, 9,000 jobs in electricity department were filled through various job recruitment notifications. Moreover, services of 24,000 contact employees in the electricity department were regularized by the State government, he added.
Stating that IT exports from the State had shot up to Rs. 1.18 lakh crores in 2020 from Rs 58,000 crores before 2014, he said an additional two lakh jobs were also created in the sector. The initiatives of the State government including TS-iPASS and 24 hours uninterrupted electricity supply had attracted Rs 6 lakh crores to the State, which created 5.5 lakh direct and indirect jobs. He said that financial assistance to unemployed was also under the consideration of the State government.
He asked the graduates to vote for TRS supported candidate in Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam graduates MLC constituency elections. Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, Nalgonda Municipal Chairman Mandadi Saidi Reddy and leaders of TRSMA participated in the meeting.
