Hyderabad: Complaints about rainwater stagnation in low-lying areas, particularly near school zones and residential colonies, and the slow pace of nala works that caused inconvenience were raised during the visit of the Commissioner, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), G Srijana, in Manikonda, on Monday.
During the visit as part of the ‘One Ward Every Day’ programme, the Commissioner reviewed civic amenities in various colonies and interacted with residents and representatives of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), said a press release.
Residents expressed concerns over the slow pace of SNDP nala works, and difficulties caused by the Pandam Vagu works and also complained about non-functional street lights, drainage problems, and underground maintenance issues in HUDA Colony and surrounding areas.
Residents urged the Commissioner to complete pending BT road works and to install footpaths and speed breakers to improve road safety and also raised demand for junction development and traffic management measures. On parks and open spaces, residents sought repairs to the walking track at Abdul Kalam Park and requested a shaded stage, a watchman’s room and restroom facilities, said the release.
The Commissioner instructed the Deputy Commissioner and officials to prioritise and address the issues raised by citizens.
