Coach A Xavier passes away
A former long distance runner, Xavier won medals in 5000m, 10000m and 3000m Steeplechase at National and All India Inter University Level.

Hyderabad: State athletics coach A Xavier became a victim of Covid-19 and passed away on Wednesday. He was 79. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter. A former long distance runner, Xavier won medals in 5000m, 10000m and 3000m Steeplechase at National and All India Inter University Level.
After his retirement he became coach and produced many internationals like Nirmala Nair, John Samuel and many national medallists. He retired as a coach of the South Central Railway. He was also an International Technical Official. As a starter, he officiated in many International and National Meets in India.
The Telangana Athletics Association and Hyderabad District Athletics Association deeply condoled the death of Xavier.
