Karimnagar: Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar on Sunday appealed to TRS activists and farmers to ensure that the TRS-led protests in every village on Monday against the Union government’s decision not to procure paddy in this Yasangi season, a big success.
The MLA organised a meeting with TRS leaders and workers from the constituency to discuss the proposed protest demonstration at Burugupalli of Gangadhara mandal on Sunday.
He asked the party cadre and farmers to take out rallies in their respective villages by wearing black shirts, black badges and holding placards. Besides hoisting black flags, effigies of the Central government should also be burnt.
Later, the party leaders should get signatures from farmers demanding the Union government to procure every grain produced by the farmers in the Yasangi season by providing a minimum support price besides providing MSP to all crops.
Telangana was the only State which was implementing several developmental and welfare schemes. Besides 24-hour electricity, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima were being provided to farmers. It was materialised only because of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
However, the Union government led by the BJP failed to introduce not a single welfare scheme for the benefit of the public, he alleged.
Blaming the Centre for not providing national status for the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, he wanted the Centre to tell the farmers whether it was ready to purchase Yasangi paddy.
