Sangareddy: Sangareddy Collector and District Election Officer P Pravinya termed Congress leader T Jagga Reddy’s allegations of enrolment of fake votes in different wards of Sangareddy and Sadasivapet municipalities as baseless.
The Collector said Jagga Reddy should have lodged a complaint with the district election authorities before making such statements. She said an inquiry would certainly be launched if any complaint was received and appropriate action would be taken, including deletion of votes if any fake voters were found to have been enrolled.
Jagga Reddy alleged that around 300 fake voters, who were outsiders to the municipality, had been enrolled in each ward of the two municipalities. The Congress leader, who attempted to barge into a polling station in the 34th ward of Sangareddy municipality, held the State Election Commission Telangana responsible for the entire episode, accusing it of enrolling fake voters during the BRS rule.
He further alleged that Inspector Shiva Kumar pushed the Congress Party contestant from the 34th ward out of the polling station by holding his collar when he tried to object to a fake voter exercising his franchise.
Following the incident, Jagga Reddy rushed to the spot, allegedly abused Inspector Shiva Kumar and attempted to enter the polling station along with his followers to stop the polling process. When the SEC announced that a case would be filed against Jagga Reddy, he blamed the Commission for the entire episode.
