Khammam: District Collector VP Gautham has directed the Panchayat Raj engineering officials to complete the ongoing development works by the end of March. The construction of around 425 CC roads has been taken up with an expenditure of Rs 18.96 crore in the district.
Gautam held a video conference with engineering officials to review the progress of the works here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he told the officials to submit proposals for additional roads required to be laid in the district. The collection of construction material and allocation of agencies to execute the works has to be completed by next Friday to speed up the construction.
The Collector also told the engineering officials to expedite the construction of 25 health sub-centres being built across the district with an expenditure of Rs 4 crore. Wherever the construction was completed there the centres have to be operationalised, he suggested.
Care should be taken to ensure quality in the construction and the works must be executed under the supervision of assistant engineers with regular monitoring over the progress of works, he added.
Panchayat Raj Superintendent Engineer G Seetharamulu, in-charge Executive Engineer KVK Srinivas and others were present.
