Congress, BRS cadres clash in Deputy CM Bhatti’s Madhira constituency
Violence broke out during vote counting in Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka’s constituency as Congress workers clashed with BRS cadres in multiple villages of Khammam district. Several were injured, recounts were held repeatedly, and disputes escalated over a Sarpanch post in Vangaveedu

Khammam: Congress leaders in Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s constituency created ruckus by clashing with the BRS cadres at different places during counting of votes.
In Ramakrishnapuram village of Chintakani mandal, Khammam district, Congress leaders and workers frustrated by their impending defeat in the Sarpanch elections attacked BRS workers with sticks and rods.
Five people sustained serious injuries in the clashes at Ramakrishnapuram while a person Oggu Srinu a suffered fracture on his right leg. The BRS district president, MLC Tata Madhusudhan condemned the attack by Congress cadres and took the matter to notice of CP Sunil Dutt. Clashes have also taken place between the two groups at Narasimhapuram in Chintakani mandal.
Meanwhile high drama unfolded in Vangaveedu villagec in Madhira mandal. Officials declared the BRS candidate as the winner but did not issue the certificate. Due to the commotion created by Congress, officials conducted recounting four times.
The BRS Sarpanch candidate won even after the recounting. BRS alleges that the political situation changed due to a phone call from Bhatti’s wife, Nandini and staged a protest at Vangaveedu.
Recounting of votes had taken place at many GPs as ruling and opposition parties demanded election officials to count the votes again after the results were announced.
