Hyderabad: Despite clear instructions from the Telangana Congress leadership against lobbying, several party MLAs continue to approach the high command seeking cabinet berths.
On Saturday, Parigi MLA T Rammohan Reddy met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi and submitted a representation seeking a place in the State cabinet. He also reportedly outlined his qualifications and contributions to bolster his case.
Cabinet expansion remains a challenge for the Congress government in Telangana, with numerous legislators vying for ministerial positions. Although three new ministers were inducted into the cabinet on June 8, after an 18-month wait, three positions still remain vacant.
Although state leadership has repeatedly urged MLAs to refrain from direct lobbying with the AICC, several members continue to disregard this directive while seeking intervention from central leaders in their pursuit of cabinet positions.
