Congress MP backs Mahesh Kumar Goud
Support continued to grow for TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud after a news channel described him as a “disaster leader”. Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi and several Congress leaders praised his leadership and criticised the reports aired against him
Hyderabad: Support continued to pour in for TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud from ‘original’ Congress leaders in Telangana after a news channel aired reports describing him as a “disaster leader”. Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi backed Mahesh Kumar Goud and described him as an efficient leader.
“I disagree with the reports aired by a news channel against Mahesh Kumar Goud throughout the day,” he said at a press conference in Hyderabad on Sunday.
A section of senior Congress leaders had already extended support to the TPCC chief through the “We stand with Mahesh Kumar” campaign on social media.
Leaders from the SC, ST, BC and Minority wings of the party also praised the leadership of Mahesh Kumar Goud. AICC general secretary KC Venugopal had also appreciated his leadership, Mallu Ravi pointed out.
“I fail to understand the reasons behind airing such reports against Mahesh Kumar Goud. I leave it to the wisdom of the channel management,” Mallu Ravi said.
Responding to a question on the channel’s perceived proximity to the Congress party, he said media organisations were free to express their opinions.
“That particular channel was not set up by the Congress party. They are only supporters and admirers of the party,” he added.
