Congress MP Karthi Chidambaram comments on Hyderabad University issue
Reacting to a post on X, the Congress MP said: “Unfortunately the ‘State / Government/ Authority’ behaves the same no matter where or who is in charge!”
HYDERABAD: Amidst the ongoing row over the University of Hyderabad land, Congress MP Karthi Chidambaram too expressed serious concerns on the way the Telangana government was handling the issue.
Cutting across sections, people have been raising objections over the State Government’s plans. Journalists and students, who raised voice against the government, were taken into custody.
Cartoonist Satish Acharya also raised concerns over the Telangana government’s approach.
“Something is seriously is wrong in Telangana,” Satish Acharya said on X while responding to a post about a journalist being detained by the police.
Replying to his post, Congress MP Chidambaram on X said: “Unfortunately the ‘State / Government/ Authority’ behaves the same no matter where or who is in charge!.”
The Congress MP’s comment reflects the Telangana government’s attitude towards the University of Hyderabad lands.
The university students have been staging protests against the State Government’s plans, citing the threat and impact on environment. The university lands are home to rich biodiversity.
