Sangareddy: The Congress party suffered a setback in the Patancheru constituency, with several key leaders from Gummadidala mandal joining the BRS in the presence of former Minister T Harish Rao.
Former ZPTC Kumar, former MPP Praveena Vijaybhaskar Reddy and Gummadidala mandal party president Hussain, along with about 50 followers, switched allegiance to the BRS. Addressing the gathering, Harish Rao accused the Congress government of neglecting village development since coming to power. Stating that Telangana panchayats had secured the most national awards during BRS rule, he said the A Revanth Reddy-led government had ignored gram panchayats, leaving secretaries under severe stress due to lack of funds for administration.
He said sanitation and drinking water supply systems had deteriorated under Congress governance and urged voters to teach the ruling party a lesson in the upcoming elections to make it correct its course in administration. BRS Patancheru coordinator V Adarsh Reddy and others were present.
